The non-governmental and non-political association NaKole was founded in 2006 with the aim to support and promote cycling in urban areas and to interconnect like-minded people. Its activities try to achieve improvement in conditions for cycling and active mobility in every Czech city and region.
The association NaKole has risen from the original traveller’s portal nakole.cz which offers tip for trips to general public, as well as useful information for bike tourists.
The newly established association responds to the needs and changes which has recently emerged in our society, covers the issue of cycling in a broader context and in connection to other topics, such as clean mobility or the development and sustainability of towns and cities.
In recent years, the subject of sustainable mobility planning has become more and more popular. Promoting active transport modes and the public space design relate naturally to climate plans and energy concepts. It implies that planning to support cycling and walking cannot be carried out separatelly, but should be integrated into a wide range of documents.
That’s why we work with many partners and are members of the Czech Cycling Federation which represents the European Cycling Federation in the Czech Republic, and also members of the Partnership for Urban Mobility.
